Summer Open Academy was a series of workshops and presentations organized by people from 13m3.sk. We were giving these workshops:

Pure Data [workshop]

PD is a modular system with open structure, which by reduction of image and sound down to data (numbers) provides an astonishing range of possibilities of processing, combination and generation of output. Software is freely available for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows platforms. The workshop is oriented more technically (does not mean only for guys) than Circulation and will further pursue some of its outcomes.

Tagging the Lost Free Space [action]

Tagging has been brought about by services such as del.icio.us and it denotes the process of associating concepts to objects. We'll unlock old librarian spells of classification and spread them around 13 kubikov via stickers and tags ascribed to photos, the Flickr style.

Data Visualization [presentation]

Data visualisation is one of the most promising methods of uderstanding the huge amount of data being generated by modern science and economy, as well as on the internet. Ana will introduce various ways and tools for data visualisation, and we will also try to reflect on their efficiency and specific features that have to be taken into account.
